Museum of Sarajevo Brewery

The Museum of Sarajevska Pivara is situated within the premises of the Sarajevska Pivara brewery, which was founded in 1864 by Viennese industrialist Heinrich Lewy. It was not only the first industrial facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina but also the first brewery in the then-Ottoman Empire.

 

The museum's exhibition showcases intriguing artifacts spanning over 150 years of the brewery's rich history and tradition.

 

Visitors to the museum have the opportunity to observe vintage bottles of Sarajevska beer, various labels and inscriptions, containers for beer storage and consumption, as well as numerous other fascinating items related to Sarajevska Pivara from the Ottoman Empire, Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and Socialist Yugoslavia eras.

 

To enhance the visitor experience, the museum is equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. This technology allows visitors to access detailed information about each exhibited artifact through their smartphones, creating a more immersive and interactive exploration of the museum's collection.
