Bjelašnica is an Olympic mountain located in the central part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, southwest of the city of Sarajevo. It is part of the Dinaric mountain system. The highest peak is the eponymous peak of Bjelašnica (2067 m), also known as the Observatory.

 

Adjacent to Bjelašnica is Mount Igman, where a part of the competitions for the XIV Winter Olympic Games in 1984, including alpine and Nordic disciplines, as well as ski jumping, took place.

 

The highest temperature reaches 24 °C, while the lowest can drop to -25 °C. During the summer, the mountain is covered in lush green grass, while in winter, it can be covered with up to 3 meters of snow.
