Bjelašnica tour Active > Mountain biking > Bjelašnica

The starting point of MTB route is the crossroad on the highway Sarajevo - Foča. Coming from Sarajevo turn right on this crossroad and proceed on the paved road. On the first crossroad keep straight and on the next crossroad keep left for Babin Dolskiing centre. From the skiing centre you can get a nice view on Bjelašnica peak. At the end of the skiing centre near Hotel Maršal there is the crossroad. Turn right onthe crossroad and proceed on the steep & rocky carriageway to Bjelašnica peak along the forest. At the end of the section along the forest there is the mine label on the left side of the carriageway. Do not ride off the road on this section. At the next crossroad you can turn left or right, both options follow to the peak. The left one is longer, more easy and there is the spring of water near the trail. Furthermore the sightseeing is much better from the left option. For uphill I rode on the right one and after few hundred meters there is the crossroad with the other trail. The steep ascent in many turns follows to the peak. From the peak there is the short trail to the ruins of military tower. For comeback I rode on the section near the spring of water and all the rest trail is the same. There is one more junction near the spring of water. For comeback keep east course on the junction. The best time to ride is during Summer, late Spring or Fall. Before the ride check the snow conditions.
