History, tradition and quality in one place, can best describe this unique restaurant, which was opened in 2004. It is located in the center of Sarajevo, in the part of Stari Grad called Bistrik, just a few meters from the Sarajevska pivara (Sarajevo Brewery), in a building that is a protected historical building. In addition, in the vicinity of the Pivnica HS there is one and only museum of brewery in B&H.
Pivnica (tavern) is a kind of a "successor" of the cult city tavern called "Kod Sameka" (At Samek's), which was owned by Alfred Samek, whose father came from the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the early 20th century. This tavern was, until the beginning of the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina, a favorite gathering place for poets, writers, actors, journalists, and it was a symbol of Sarajevo's bohemian milieu. At Samek’s was a favorite spot of a famous poet Tin Ujević, who wrote there some of his most famous poems. After nearly a century of its existence, the tavern "At Samek’s" stopped working, and today, at its location, near theSarajevska pivara, there is a memorial plaque as a reminder of this famous meeting place in Sarajevo. The Pivnica HS extends to over 1100 square meters and has a capacity of 400 seats. The space is ideal for business meetings, cocktail parties, receptions, promotions and other events. There is a possibility of renting the entire facility, and there is also the VIP lounge available for organizing events. To make experience complete, in addition to the rich gastronomic offer and excellent beer, our guests can enjoy the music of our band called "Pivnica HS".
